SF State has a vibrant Greek community, with over 30 fraternities and sororities to join. They include cultural, social, service, business and honorary focused organizations, including inter/national, local, and citywide chapters.
How to Get Involved?
Most Greek organizations recruit through a new member recruitment process at the beginning of each semester. If you are interested in becoming Greek, be sure to check out the fraternities and sororities tabling in the Quad the first few weeks of classes. Although most chapters host recruitment at the beginning of the semester, some chapters conduct membership “intake” at various times throughout the year. Each Greek chapter has a process specific to their own organization. In order to learn about specific Greek chapter recruitment dates and procedures, please contact the chapter directly. If you have trouble contacting the organization’s student leaders, let Student Involvement & Career Center (SICC) know at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will assist in connecting you.
During the recruitment process, visit as many chapters possible and get to know the members through mixers, social and professional events, and community service projects. This is your chance to learn about the chapters on campus.
