The Campus Recreation Department strives to meet the dynamic needs and interests of students, faculty and staff by providing programs and services that promote positive physical and mental health, encourage lifetime interest in active, healthy lifestyles and provide student leadership opportunities that compliment the academic experience.


How to Get Involved?

Campus Recreation is a strong and supportive force here at SF State. You can find us on campus promoting active and healthy lifestyles at Wellness Workshops, Health Fairs, Farmers Market events, Student Life activities, or just out in the Quad. Looking to meet new friends? Want to learn more about your fun activities here on campus? Need a job? Come visit our main office in the Student Services Building Room 105.

Program Areas To Get Involved In

Aquatics

Whether you are looking to increase your endurance, tone-up or simply learn a new stroke, our expanded aquatics program offers daily lap swimming, recreational swim and a variety of fitness classes.

Group X

A comprehensive fitness program designed to promote personal growth through physical activity. We offer group exercise classes ranging from yoga to cardio boot camp.

Informal Recreation

Visit the Strength and Conditioning Room for a workout. Drop in the gymnasium for a pick-up game of basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, or badminton during our recreational hours.

Intramural Sports

Students have an opportunity to participate in structured sport leagues and tournaments such as 5 on 5 basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, billiards, and tennis.

Sport Clubs

Sport Clubs allow students to compete against other collegiate and community clubs. Clubs are organized and managed by other students and provide leadership experience.

Wellness

We offer a variety of activities and workshops designed to educate the campus community on the benefits of living healthy and well-balanced lifestyles.
