Mashouf Wellness Center

The Mashouf Wellness Center will be an exciting, state-of-the-art, 118,700 square-foot facility, supporting general well-being by providing recreation and wellness programs and activities for the SF State campus. The design intentionally reflects a multi-functionality of space to support “a little something for everyone”, providing recreation, wellness, and event space to support activities and programs appealing to our diverse student body.

This addition to SF State comes at a time when the university is focused on building community, encouraging its students to stay healthy, well and active, and improving the student life experience. Design and construction is targeting the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum rating, the highest designation in measuring energy and sustainable design. It will be SF State’s first LEED rated building, and one of the few LEED Platinum collegiate recreation-wellness facilities in the country. Funding for the building and operations is paid for by student fees, which were approved by students in 2009-2010, and supported by a lead gift by accomplished alumnus, Manny Mashouf.

The Mashouf Wellness Center broke ground in the summer of 2015 and is scheduled to be completed in 2017.
