Want to become a Presidential Scholar?

We’d love to help you visualize your future as a San Francisco State University Presidential Scholar. Whether you are in 8th grade or 11th grade, it’s never too early to begin thinking about your San Francisco State University experience.  

Eligibility

The Presidential Scholars is awarded to incoming first-time freshman at San Francisco State. Applications always open in January/February during application season. We encourage you to apply to the Presidential Scholarship Program if you meet all of the following eligibility criteria: 

  • 3.5 High School GPA or higher 
  • Taken AP courses in High School 
  • Live in the 9 surrounding Bay Area counties 
  • Engaged in leadership, community services, and advocacy at your high school 
  • Eligible for Cal Grant B Financial Aid Package

Is Senior Year of High School just around the corner? You can start to think about the Presidential Scholarship Program now by planning to enroll in AP classes, explore leadership opportunities at your school, or engage in community service or advocacy work in your local neighborhood.
